EMS & Remote Monitoring and Control (RTU)
Two products, one controlled system. EMS optimizes your operating economics; dispatcher control handles the mandatory connection of generators above 100 to the distribution network.
Intelligent energy management
for B2B operations
Brainergy EMS coordinates every energy asset — PV, BESS, cogeneration, EV chargers, grid and electricity trading. The goal is minimizing costs and maximizing the value of on-site sources.
Overview of selected services Brainergy EMS provides:
Lower regulated distribution costs
- Reduction of reserved capacity / highest measured 15-minute demand
- Keeping operations within grid limits (e.g. reserved capacity)
- Real-time peak shaving
Maximum use of on-site sources
- Maximizing output from PV, wind, micro-hydro and other renewables
- Storing on-site generation when day-ahead prices are low
- Using stored energy during high purchase-price hours
- Maximum utilization of the on-site battery storage
Energy-flow control
- Coordinated control of every managed energy asset
- Trading on the day-ahead market — buy and sell
- Targeted export of surplus during high feed-in prices
- Load manager — control of AC and DC EV chargers
- Electricity sharing IN/OUT across delivery points to save the energy component
- Backup against grid outages
Ancillary services (frequency / voltage support)
- Flexibility aggregation for frequency and voltage stabilization in the transmission system
- Commercial flexibility (intraday) and correction of trading imbalances
- Additional revenue from battery storage and flexible assets
Real-time monitoring & data archive
Continuous collection, visualization and archiving of data from every connected technology. Configurable archive resolution (1 min / 15 min / daily / monthly / yearly) for audits, efficiency reviews and regulatory reporting.
- Real-time energy flows
- Battery power, SOC, SOH
- Voltage and current parameters, inverter states
- Communication with the distribution network
- Alarms, faults, operating states
- Archive at 1-min / 15-min / daily / monthly / yearly resolution
Standard EMS delivery
- EMS monitoring & control unit
- Industrial LTE router
- One year of LTE connectivity including SIM
- Brainergy EMS Cloud (remote management, dashboards)
Optional services (scheduling calendar, tariff model, Profit Optimizer, detailed BESS/PCS monitoring…) on request.
Protected against cyber attacks
Czech solution, NIS2-ready, data never leaves the EU
- Software and hardware developed in the Czech Republic, manufactured in the Czech Republic
- Data stored exclusively in Czech data centers
- Operational data is never transferred or stored outside the EU
- Architecture built around NIS2 and critical-infrastructure cyber-security principles
- Remote vendor access to technologies is blocked
- Strict identity, role and permission management with full auditability
- Encrypted communication following best practices
- Continuous 24/7 support for key services
Mandatory control of generators above 100
for connection to the distribution network
Dispatcher control provides continuous supervision and the transfer of key data to the distributor's dispatch center for grid stability. The distribution-system operator can adjust renewable output to match real-time consumption and grid conditions.
Designed for PV, micro-hydro, wind, BESS, cogeneration units and diesel generators.
Two levels of delivered dispatcher control
Dispatcher control with remote access
Export control to a fixed value per connection contract
- Mandatory regulatory framework for connecting a generator to the distribution network
- Export control to a fixed value per the connection contract
- Remote access to electricity meters
- Remote access to the RTU
Dispatcher control with cloud services
Dynamic export control based on day-ahead market prices (SPOT)
- Everything from the basic level
- Dynamic export control based on day-ahead market prices
- Charts of historical meter values
- Inputs for monthly generation and consumption reports
- Supervision of key technologies
- Notifications when communication with the RTU or generator fails
Core hardware components
- Certified ELVAC RTU + Siemens PLC
- VPN router, secure management over LTE
- 4× free LAN port for inverters / additional PV technology
- 2× antenna for the LTE network
- Backed-up 24 V / 100 W DC source, 2× AGM battery
- Siemens meters with web interface, MID-certified
Ingress protection IP55 once installed. Indoor and outdoor installation. Inverter communication over MODBUS RTU / TCP. RTU is IEC 60870-5-101/104 certified.
Online cloud services
- Continuous supervision of every type of dispatcher control
- Remote support (business days 8am–4pm, critical functions daily 8am–8pm)
- Real-time monitoring — generator status and output, distribution, control actions
- Interactive charts, statistics, XLSX/CSV exports
- Archive of 15-min data (1 year) and 1-min data (5 days)
- Email notifications when IP communication fails
- Remote access to meter and RTU web interfaces
Optional: export limitation at negative prices, transfer of delivery-point data to OTE, LTE data services. Provided under an annual license.
Optional extensions for dispatcher control
Remote delivery point
Switchboard with a backed-up power source, DI/DO, LAN switch and licenses for a remote handover point.
Remote generator / BESS
Control of the islanding point and inverters, MID meter, MODBUS TCP/RTU converter.
Sensor kit (>400 )
Irradiance and temperature sensors for PV plants above 400 , including SW licenses.
EMS module in the dispatcher cabinet
Stand-alone EMS control module installed directly inside the dispatcher-control cabinet.
EMS & Remote Monitoring and Control (RTU) = one controlled system
Dispatcher control meets the regulatory duty toward the distributor. EMS builds on it and turns your operation into an economically optimized energy system — with peak shaving, day-ahead trading and participation in ancillary services.
